Sangre ( Blood)

I have one love.
And in loving it is also my one cause and life work.

The exhibition that is shown here in a slide show is the result of working with a question. If every man is born of a mother, if man is our father, husband, brother, son, lover, or friend; If we all know what it is to be inside a woman...........why are most of the worlds atrocities commited by men. This was my beginning dilema. "What it means to be a woman" a friend called it. My dilema of what it means to be a woman, a mother, a wife, a lover, a daughter, a sister and how I worked with the idea.

Next.........was there one image, one thing that would represent the beginning of the cycle? So I narrowed it down to the blood of menses, a thing of both life and death. Much research and sharing of conversation arrose on the theme, and I wont go into it right now, yet I chose it as my one answer for this series. It was one of the most important bodies of work I have produced and feel honored to have such a hugely successful reponse to the work.

Guided by dear friend, mentor and fellow artist Peter Barton from beginning to end- Thank you Peter.

Man was born created

Taking a virtual look at the world, I ran into mines and serious food and water shortages, wars, and people trying really hard to stay alive. I saw the courage in extreme sufferings beyond my own imagination, I saw others assisting in processes which in many different ways put them on the absolute edge, while risking to face and voice human need.
